A summer hiatus for Senior Fitness Class
Senior Fitness Class: Steps & Strength, will pause for the summer and return in September!
So, lace up your sneakers and let’s get walking Mondays and Thursdays starting at 9 a.m. at the Solon Recreation and Nature Area (SRNA). Meet at the Timber Dome.

Blood pressure screening June 22
The Solon Public Library has partnered with the American Heart Association to provide blood pressure screenings. The Library is promoting their newest addition to the Library of Things: a blood pressure monitor and encourages people to come and learn why regular screenings are important.
A screening will be held Monday, June 22, 12-2 p.m.

Volunteers bring the Library to you
Did you know that Solon Senior Support volunteers will deliver library books/materials to your home and pick them up when you are done using them? Call 319-624-2678 for more information or to set up a delivery.
Mowing help is available
Don’t want to mow this summer? Let our Solon High School students with a mowing business do it for you! If you would like their contact information, give Jill Weetman a call at 319-624-2773. If cost is a concern, we have a grant from the Solon Retirement Village that will cover the cost of mowing.
Our Solon Senior Support High School Club is also available to help with cleaning out garden beds, pulling weeds, and picking up sticks for you.
Do you need a ramp for safety?
Do you, a friend, or neighbor need a ramp installed to get in and out of your house safely? The Watts Group would like to help! Their construction team will work with you on a ramp at no charge. Tuesday and Thursday Senior Social on pause
The Tuesday and Thursday Senior Socials will be paused for the summer and will return in September with coffee, treats, and opportunities to connect.

Come join the FREE classes Mondays at 12:30 p.m. and Wednesdays at 10 a.m. at the Solon Public Library and feel stronger, more balanced, and more flexible. Don’t forget to come early for coffee on Wednesdays. Everyone can benefit from chair yoga, come try it out!
Solon Food Pantry needs
Non-food needs include: toilet paper, pet food, diapers, feminine hygiene products, shampoo/conditioner, bar soap, toothpaste, lotion, deodorant, laundry detergent, dish soap, disinfecting wipes, paper towels, Kleenex®, and over-the-counter medications.
The Pantry is located in the lower level of the Solon United Methodist Church at 122 N. West St. with the entrance on the east side (back) of the church.

Donations: 8:30-10 a.m. Mondays. Also, a box is located outside the Pantry door for after-hours donations.

Euchre
Fridays, 12:30-3 p.m. at the Solon Methodist Church with coffee and a snack at 2 p.m. Give Jill a call at 319-624-2773 if you need a ride.
Speaking of rides…
Solon Senior Transport volunteer drivers can transport you to and from medically-related appointments. An enrollment form and a detailed brochure will be sent to you upon request. Once enrolled, the senior may call for a ride to a specific appointment. Requests for rides should be scheduled several days prior to the appointment date. All drivers are self-insured and new drivers are welcome!

Zumba
Zumba meets Tuesdays and Fridays, 8:30-9:30 a.m., at the Solon Community Center gymnasium and is taught by the fantastic Rebecca Donovan. Cost is only $1, bring a water bottle, and be ready to have some fun!
Join the Pickleball Club!
Want to join the Johnson County Pickleball Club (JCPC) or just come try it out and see if you like it?
The Solon United Methodist Church-Family Life Center at 131 N. West St. has three indoor courts used by the JCPC 8-11:30 a.m. Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, 9-11 a.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, 6-8:30 p.m. Fridays, and 9:30-11 a.m. Sundays.
Walk-in fee is $5, JCPC membership is $15/year, and the yearly court fee is $100. The courts may also be rented for private groups. Call the church at 319-624-2288 for rates and scheduling. Newcomers and walk-ins are always welcome, and lessons are on Sunday mornings.
