The varsity Spartans rebounded from a season opening 6-1 loss to Regina Catholic (Monday, March 30 and chronicled in last week’s edition of the Economist) by scoring six goals in a pair of wins Saturday, April 4, in their home triangular against non-conference opponents West Branch and Clinton.

Ethan Ulch, a senior, scored twice in the contest converting a free kick into the Spartans’ first goal about nine minutes into the match for a 1-0 lead. The Bears equalized roughly 15 minutes in. Ryan Locke scored in the second half with an assist by senior Tucker Spence.
Solon 3 Clinton 0
Tucker Spence rocketed the ball into the net about ten minutes into the contest for a 1-0 Solon lead while senior Parker Mergen scored roughly three minutes later while Ryan Locke put the final nail in the River Kings’ coffin.
