This weekend, Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 8 and 9, a small farm in Kansas, Munchkin Land, Emerald City, and The Land of Oz come to life on the stage in the Performing Arts Center as Solon High School presents The Wizard of Oz.
Madisen Kleppe stars as Dorothy and is joined by Parker Beck (Hunk/Scarecrow), Deacon Waddell (Hickory/Tinman), and John Rasmussen (Zeke/Cowardly Lion). Zander Bishop and Landree Buch are Uncle Henry and Auntie Em, Allison Hedge plays Miss Amira Gulch while Ashley Farnsworth is the Wicked Witch of the West. On the side of good is Piper Stahle as Glinda. Toby Kleinsmith plays Professor Marvel and the title role.
A special guest star, little furry Maysie Russel, takes on the role of Toto.
“It’s just so fun. I don’t why you wouldn’t want to come. It gives you something to do, it’s fun to watch, there’s so many people in it, and it’s a great community. You wouldn’t not have fun if you went, so why not go?
