It was a busy weekend for the musicians and color guard of the Solon Spartan Marching Band.
Friday, October 10, the band performed their 2025 halftime show, “Cirque’ Du Solon,” during halftime of the frosh-soph football game. Before the varsity team took the field, the band’s seniors joined football players, cheerleaders, and cross country runners for Senior Night recognition. During halftime of the varsity game, the 7th and 8th grade band joined the marching band for a series of Halloween tunes including “Monster Mash” and the theme to “Ghostbusters.”
Saturday afternoon the band and color guard performed their show at the 2025 State Marching Band competition at Kingston Stadium in Cedar Rapids, earning a Division I rating, their first since 2017.
