Voters in the city of Solon and in the Solon Community School District (SCSD) will go to the polls Tuesday, Nov. 4 for the city and school election.
Solonites will find several candidates to choose from for open seats on the city council while the school board election consists of incumbents running unopposed.
City Council
Three seats are open for four year terms with incumbents Cole Gabriel and Lauren Whitehead facing challengers Greg Morris, Tim Gordon, and Matthew Macke.
School Board
Four year terms for Dr. Tim Brown (current board president), Dan Coons, and Cassie Rochholz are expiring with all three running unopposed. Megan Laing is running unopposed for a two year term. Laing was appointed by the Board to fill a vacancy created when Jami Wolf resigned. Wolf’s term would have expired in 2027.
Candidates’ forum scheduled
Mykle Clark, Adult Services Librarian at the Solon Public Library, is inviting all candidates to a candidates’ forum Monday, October 20, at 6:30 p.m. at the library.
