DUBUQUE — City High Little Hawk swimmers fell 97-86 Tuesday, Sept. 9 at Hempstead HS in Dubuque.

Solon freshman Avery Feuerbach defeated fellow Little Hawk Lolita Hurlbutt, a senior, 2:33.57 – 2:43.15 to win the junior varsity (JV) 200-yard freestyle. Feuerbach, Madelyn Elkins, Ireland Hagarty, Ella Pressler, and Paige Anderson are on the City High roster this season.

Pressler, a junior, won the JV one-meter diving decisively with 110.55 points to 68.40 and 50.65 for Hempstead’s Emma Garriott and Nora Kennedy.

Elkins took third in the 50-yard freestyle (26.83) and third in the 100 freestyle (1:01.89 while Hagarty took second in the one-meter dive with 158.65 points.

The Little Hawk’s home invitational tournament, with North Scott, Bettendorf, Iowa City West High/Liberty High, Burlington, and Pleasant Valley is set for Saturday, Sept. 20 at noon at the Mercer Park Aquatic Center, 2701 Bradford Drive, Iowa City.
