Due to recent repairs needed on the outdoor warning sirens located in the North Zone (north of Lake Macbride – Solon, Swisher, Shueyville, and rural areas), Johnson County Emergency Management Agency will test at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2025.
The test will be isolated to the North Zone area operated sirens only with a series of short tests each lasting less than three minutes between 10:00 a.m. and 10:15 a.m. on Sept. 10.
This is not a county-wide test.
This test is essential to ensure the full operational capability of the sirens located throughout the North Zone area during severe weather.
In the event of threatening weather on this day, tests will be postponed. The testing, once completed, will return to the normal schedule at 10:00 a.m. on the first Wednesday of each month, beginning Oct. 1, 2025.
