Friday night – the marching band is playing, the student section is decked out in the theme of the week, parents and other fans are in the stands, the Spartans are on the gridiron, and on the track are girls in black and orange jumping and waving orange and black pom poms.
The cheerleaders are on the job and working hard to fire up the crowd and motivate the team to victory with cheers and pushups for every Solon touchdown.
Coaches Kashi Griffith and Elizabeth Rohner oversee 20 girls this season in both junior varsity (JV) and varsity combined (with a ten-girl varsity only travel squad).
