BAM POW: Thursday early-out programs begin September 11 for 1st-8th Grades.
This library program is offered as a service to our community, it is a drop-in program, no registration. Supervision is provided during the Library program in the meeting room. All children in 1st-3rd grades MUST attend the program and be picked up by a caregiver at 2:45 p.m.. Older children may enjoy the rest of the Library. There is no adult supervision outdoors at any time. We recommend parents and caregivers discuss these expectations, pick-up plans, etc. with their children. Library staff are sharing these programs for participating children but this does not provide the need for supervised childcare. Mark your calendars and join us for BAM POW!
Gain some experience in the kitchen and discover new favorite recipes at Cookbook Club each month. At 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 20, we’ll gather to enjoy the fruits (and vegetables) of our labor. Instead of a specific theme or cookbook this month, check out a cookbook or two from the Library’s vast collection, make a recipe, and bring it to share with the group.

What We’re Reading
Booklovers join together each month for Solon Book Club on the third Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. to discuss the latest read. With each participant having an opportunity to select a book and lead the discussion, we enjoy a wide variety of books throughout the year. We’d love for you to join us!
This month we’re reading The Poisonwood Bible by Barbara Kingsolver. This unforgettable epic chronicles the disintegration of family and a nation, set against the backdrop of one of the twentieth century’s most dramatic political events –the Congo’s fight for independence from Belgium and its devastating consequences.
Pick up a copy of the book at the Library and join us on Tuesday, September 16, at 6:30 p.m. to join the discussion.
