The Solon Nursing Care Center has earned the highest possible rating on its comprehensive annual survey by the Iowa Department of Inspections and Appeals.
A Deficiency Free survey certifies that all nursing care and services meet or exceed the regulatory standards outlined by both the State of Iowa and the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). Only about 5% of the 400-plus senior living communities in Iowa achieve this level.
These unannounced on-site surveys, conducted over several days, assess the quality of care provided for nursing home residents. Health Facilities Surveyors interviewed staff, residents, and family members. They also reviewed specific state and federal regulations including quality care, safety, food and nutrition, resident rights, and clinical records to ensure compliance.
Melissa Reed, Campus Administrator, stated “This is an amazing accomplishment to receive a deficiency free designation two years in a row! It’s a testament to all the hard work our staff perform each day. I am extremely proud of their dedication and commitment to providing quality cares to our residents.”
The Solon Retirement Assisted Living facility also received a Deficiency Free rating in March. Assisted living surveys are conducted every other year.
Solon Retirement Village is a continuing care retirement community (CCRC) and offers independent & assisted living, nursing home care, skilled rehab, and outpatient therapy services. They have been proudly serving this community since 1973.
