As summer draws to a close we bid farewell to our summer interns from the University of Iowa – AJ Dolan, Ella McEntaffer, and Natalia Scales.
This was the second summer we have benefited from the School of Journalism providing interns to the Solon Economist and Mount Vernon-Lisbon Sun. AJ, Ella, and Natalia spent the summer covering city council meetings, feature stories in the community, and helping with coverage of baseball and softball.
Thanks to the trio, and social media intern Katie Henry, the Economist was able to cover more Beef Days events than ever with an “All hands on deck” approach.
We thank AJ, Ella, and Natallia for all of their hard work this summer and wish them well in their future endeavors.
We anticipate fall interns starting in the next few weeks along with students from the Prep Sports Reporting and Community News classes.
