Despite a questionable weather forecast, Kickin’ Country took the Main Street Stage last Wednesday to perform classic country and rock hits and close out the 2025 Music on Main concert series.

The parking lot surrounding the gazebo was filled and dozens of residents sat in lawn chairs and blankets near the stage. Based out of Cedar Rapids, Kickin’ Country is composed of five band members including lead vocalists Cathy Hart and Lorie Parker. Hart and Parker have been performing together for over ten years and are also best friends off the stage. The band is specifically known for their renditions of ‘80s and 90s country music, as well as old rock and roll songs.

Favorite songs from the Aug 6 performance included Strawberry Wine by Deana Carter and Jolene by Dolly Parton. In case Solon residents missed the performance, the band frequently plays at Whiskey Jo’s Pub and Grub and Wild Hogs Saloon & Eatery in Cedar Rapids.
