Rose and William McAtee competed in the Breed Steer event of the 2025 Johnson County Fair Wednesday, July 23 with William taking home Champion Angus Steer honors along with a purple ribbon and first place while Rose won a blue fourth place ribbon. The McAtee’s are members of the Graham Champions 4-H Club.
Reece Meyer, a member of the Graham Champions 4-H Club picked up several honors in the crossbred steer competition including 4th place Grand Champion Market Beef, Champion Johnson County Bred Calf, Champion Rate of Gain Market Beef, Reserve Champion Carcass Steer, Reserve Champion Crossbred Steer, and Blue ribbon, 2nd place. Reece’s steer, Whiskey, was also selected for the Governor’s Charity Steer Show Friday, August 9 (see related article).
The Graham Champions in general had a good day with Autumn Miller winning Reserve Grand Champion in the cow/calf competition, Julia Steinbrech showing the Reserve Champion Chianina Steer and receiving Reserve Champion Rate of Gain (Market Beef), and William McAtee showing the Champion Angus Steer.
