It may have gotten here faster than we anticipated but Thursday, July 31, marks the official close of summer reading. Thank you for logging your reading and joining us for a multitude of great programs.
To close out our summer of incredible programs and guests, we’re excited to share Dinosaurs at Dusk Friday, August 1, at 6:00 p.m. on the Library Lawn & Patio. We’ll enjoy a large variety of wooden dinosaurs from the Jack Neuzil collection. Friends can read a book with their favorite dinosaur, get creative with crafts, and enjoy sensory play. The Library will close at 5:00 p.m. as usual, we’ll host this spectacular event outside on the patio and lawn. Restrooms will be available during the program.

The benefits of chair yoga continue to amaze us all! Patrons have remarked about increased range of motion, improvements to quality of life, and enjoyed the social interaction. We are so grateful for our partnership with Solon Senior Support and Solon Beef Days Committee that helps to fund this twice weekly Library program. You can join us to see what the fuss is all about! Mondays at 12:30 p.m. and Wednesdays at 10:00 a.m. Please note the class size is capped at 25 to allow adequate space and optimal instruction.

What We’re Reading
Join the Solon Book Club on the third Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. for lively discussions and diverse reads. Members take turns choosing the book and leading the conversation, ensuring a mix of genres and voices throughout the year. New readers are always welcome!
This month, the Solon Book Club is reading The Storied Life of A.J. Fikry by Gabrielle Zevin. Set in a small island bookstore, this heartwarming novel follows the life of A.J. Fikry, a prickly bookseller whose world is turned upside down when an unexpected package arrives. Through loss, love, and the transformative power of books, Fikry’s story reminds us how stories—and people—can surprise us.
Copies are available at the Library, we’d love for you to join us!
