The saga of the City of Solon and the development of a new Jordan Creek Church site seems to be never ending. The recent “clarification” by this publication (6/26) and the accompanying quotes of the City’s opposition to the church building proceeding without the City’s total control of the process is troubling.
It seems that the City wants to dictate all aspects of the process, design and plan when they barely have any jurisdiction given the site is outside city limits. If the city wants to have so much control over the building of a new church or other developments in the future, then they need to annex the areas!
I’m sure the church will continue to be a tremendous asset to the city and further hostile language and seemingly unnecessary stipulations from the city and it’s administrators will only worsen relations. Perhaps the city decision makers should go to Jordan Creek Church next Sunday for a service and find out what it’s all about! They may leave with a change of opinion, or perhaps, a change of heart.
