SOLON — Shockwaves were felt last Friday as the Solon Beef Days Committee made a startling announcement on social media platforms.
“Thank You for 50 Years of Steak Dinners!
After five incredible decades, we’ve made the tough decision to retire the Steak Dinners from our Beef Days food offerings. We know this tradition meant a lot to many, and we’re so grateful for all the years of support.”
Beef Days President Denise Bruck explained via email it is simply a matter of cost.
“We try to make Beef Days an affordable event for everyone,” said Bruck. “With the increase in beef prices, we chose to keep our focus on lower-price sandwiches. We (will) have steak sandwiches, pork loin sandwiches, and the very popular pork burger.”
