SOLON — As diverse as the patrons are who utilize the Solon Food Pantry, so too are the requests Elaine Claude, Director of the Solon Food Pantry, receives from people needing a little help to get by.
“It’s a food pantry but I’ve had requests for laundry detergent and feminine products specifically,” she said.
Also, the Pantry will gratefully accept donations of shampoo/conditioner, toothpaste, and dish soap.
For food, the Pantry is looking for baked beans, condiments such as dressings and mayo, canned meat, boxed potatoes (au gratin or scalloped), Hamburger Helper®, Suddenly Salad®, soups other than vegetable, crunchy peanut butter, and cereal (other than Cheerios® or Life®).
The Pantry’s stock of food and toiletries can fluctuate greatly from month-to-month, even week-to-week depending on demand and donations received.
The Pantry is open to receive donations Mondays, 8:30-10:00 a.m. with a 24/7 drop-off box outside the Pantry door.
