The Library is for everyone and Summer Reading is too! Come check out a book, movie, cake pan, and even a telescope. The Library has something for everyone to read, learn, and enjoy this summer.
Library Programs
Challenge your detective talents in the Library Spy School with a crash course in secret codes, invisible ink, fingerprinting and more! Library Spy School is Tuesday, July 1, at 4:00 p.m. for Kids (incoming 1st-8th graders). No registration necessary.
Storytime continues every Tuesday morning at 9:30 or 10:30 a.m. Perfect for littles and their caregivers to enjoy stories, songs, and social time. Saturday, July 12, we’ll enjoy Saturday Splash Pad Storytime at 10:30 a.m. Meet us at the Solon Splash Pad, located in Solon Recreation and Nature Area near the Timber Dome to enjoy stories, books, and fun!
Why do things explode? We’ll explore the interactions of pressure, temperature and states of matter to explain why things pop, bang or blow up. Experiment with ultracold liquid nitrogen and combustible gases in this spectacular assembly. Join us at the Family Life Center (131 N. West St) for this all-ages program with our friends from The Science Center of Iowa Monday, July 7, at 1:00 p.m. No registration necessary.
Learn to fold your own Origami cranes and flowers at DIY Night Tuesday, July 8, at 6:30 p.m. This night of learning and creating is for adults and young adults (16+), please register on our website calendar or by calling the library.
Upcoming dates to Read with Willa the Dog are Wednesday, July 9, starting at 4:00 p.m. and Monday, July 28, starting at 5:30 p.m. Kids (1st-8th graders) can register for a 15-minute time slot to cuddle up with Willa and a good book.

Library Access
Regular Library hours are Monday-Thursday, 9:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m. and Friday-Saturday, 9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. Closed Sundays. Please always refer to our website calendar or call to check hours as weather may impact our ability to be safely open.
Special Hours Friday, June 27: 9:00 a.m.-4:00p.m. to allow time for our monthly staff in-service.
