IOWA CITY — Three Solon track and field athletes competed in the Iowa Association of Track Coaches (IATC) 2025 Outdoor Championships this past Saturday at Iowa City West High School.

Recent graduate Kate Shafer took 2nd place in discus with a 126’-10” throw. Shafer was 4th at the 2025 State Track and Field Championships with a 137’-9” throw, which put her in the top-10 for Iowa and set a personal record. Shafer beat her State shot put throw of 36’-1-1/4” with a 38’-2” throw for third place and a new personal best.

Freshman Brinley Landsgard was 7th in discus at 82’-9” and 7th in shot put at 26’-9.”

Sophomore Kaden Hoeper took 2nd in high jump clearing 6’-0.” Hoeper was 4th in the State Meet at 6’-01.”
