First district Republican representative, Mariannette Miller-Meeks, has accepted over $196K from Big Pharma since she was elected to Congress in 2020. Is this why she voted against allowing the government to negotiate Medicare drug costs and capping the price of insulin?
Pharmaceutical giant Eli Lilly, gave her $1,000 on the day the House voted.
Miller-Meeks’ health care advice is questionable. During COVID, she falsely claimed, “children don’t transmit the virus.” She also bought into false claims that a malaria drug, hydroxychloroquine, was a safe remedy for COVID. Both
The World Health Organization and FDA cautioned against its use.
Miller-Meeks voted against the PACT Act, “An Act to improve health care and benefits for veterans exposed to toxic substances….” Miller-Meeks does not vote to protect our health, puts forth inaccurate and unsafe advice, and failed to protect veterans when given an opportunity.
The last straw is her refusal to defend her votes by failing to hold in-person town halls during recess from congress. Miller-Meeks should not be re-elected.
