SOLON — The varsity Lady Spartans added to their record book last week as they combined for a new 18-hole school record Tuesday, April 29, while hosting their Spartan Invitational at Saddleback Ridge Golf Course in Solon.

The ladies shot 334 for the new record and the meet win with Benton Community second at 348. Benton’s Hae Sobaski medaled with 70 while CCA’s Brooklyn Lee took runner up at 71. Sydney Dee (79), Jaya Farlinger (84), Macy Fuller (85), Mya Miller (85), and Izzy Frees (85) took spots four through eight on the leaderboard.

“It was a chilly, windy day, but that didn’t stop the scoring. There were several good teams here! It was nice to get back to our home course, our girls play well here, but so does everyone else too. We are really proud of our effort today, we had a lot of girls play well!”

WaMaC East and WaMaC West rivals met Monday, April 28 at the Amana Colonies Golf Club as Solon and Clear Creek Amana (CCA) faced off with the Lady Spartans sinking the Clippers 191-212. Sydney Dee medaled at 39, Izzy Frees carded 46 (third), Macy Fuller, Emma Phelps, and Jaya Farlinger all shot 53 (tied for fifth), and Taylor Jett had 56 (eighth) for the nine-hole afternoon.
