MARION — The Lady Spartans returned to the mats after the Christmas-New Year break Thursday, Jan. 9 with a double dual meet against the Marion Wolves and South Tama Trojans at Marion High School, falling to both.

Kara VeDepo (105 pounds) pinned Jayva Gomez in 1:01, McKenna Rogers (110) pinned Taylor Johannsen in 35 seconds, Alexis Anderson (130) took a 7-2 decision from Brooklyn Mitchell, and Olivia Bonnema (140) pinned Maylee Rucker in 1:45.
Rylee Worrell (115) pinned Alyssa Kriegel in 1:41 and Ella Sheeley (130) took a 14-2 major decision from Kyla Bessman in extra matches.
