IOWA CITY — The Johnson County League of Women Voters and Tools and Resources for Active Independent Living (TRAIL) of Johnson County will host a book event Tuesday, Sept. 17 at 7:00 p.m. in the Assembly Room of the Senior Center of Iowa City as moderator Karl Cas- sell will discuss race in America with Dave Markward. Markward is the author of From Dubuque to Selma and Beyond: My Journey to Understand Racism in America.
Markward was superintendent of the Cedar Rapids Community School District and spent six years research- ing and doing interviews for his book.
The Senior Center is located at 28 S. Linn St. in Iowa City.
