Read. Renew. Repeat! Summer Reading continues through Wednesday, July 31 at Solon Public Library. Track your reading online with READsquared or on paper slips, whichever works best for you! Each completed level will get you a small prize and a grand prize entry! When you join us for Library programs in June & July you will earn a secret code. Collecting secret codes is another way to participate in Summer Reading! Every four codes you collect, you earn another small prize and a chance to win a grand prize! Each secret code can only be used once per participant.
Library Events
Navigating the world of homeschooling can be a big task! We’d love to help with your journey. Area homeschool families are invited for a Homeschool Meet Up and Resources program Monday, June 24 at 10:30 a.m. We’ll begin with introductions, then hear from our Youth Services Librarian about helpful resources in the Library and surrounding areas and have time to socialize with each other.
Summer Reading fun isn’t just for the kids! Adults and Young Adults (16+) will enjoy learning about Restoring Oak Forest Habitats Tuesday, June 25 at 6:30 p.m. Iowa DNR Forester Mark Vitosh will be here to discuss maintaining and restoring oak forest habitats.
Beat the heat with Game Night! Our monthly adult & young adult (16+) Game Night takes place Thursday, June 27 at 6:30 p.m. Join the regular games of Cribbage or Scrabble – or break out a new game. We’d love to have you join us!
On Friday, June 28 at 10:00 a.m. we’re going on a Nature Scavenger Hunt for Kids (incoming 1st-5th graders). Meet us at the library for a morning walk exploring nature! From the library, our group will walk to Randall Park for a nature scavenger hunt and read-aloud animal guessing games. Kids will get the chance to find natural shapes, textures, and colors while learning about ways to identify plants, animals, and tracks.
Chair Yoga continues all year! We love seeing the benefits of Chair Yoga, patrons have remarked about increased range of motion, improvements to quality of life, and enjoyed the social interaction. You can join us to see what the fuss is all about! Mondays at 12:30 p.m. and Wednesdays at 10:00 a.m. Please note the class size is capped at 25 to allow adequate space and optimal instruction. Chair Yoga is an adult program, for 19+ years.

Regular Library hours are Monday-Thursday 9:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m. and Friday-Saturday 9:00 a.m.-5L00 p.m. Closed Sundays.
The Library will be open 9:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. Friday, June 28 to allow time for our staff in-service after close.
