IOWA CITY — The Johnson County Fairgrounds located at the SW edge of Iowa City, Iowa will be the location for the annual Ackerman’s July 4TH Stars & Stripes Antique Market to be held Thursday, July 4, 7:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.
Ackerman’s took over the former long running Hanson’s Grove Antique Show held at Solon until 2014 and in 2015 was the first year for Ackerman’s July 4TH Stars & Stripes Antique & Vintage Market, which has become a major attraction to the area on July 4th attracting several thousand attenders each year.
Expected are about 75 dealers/over collected sellers who will set up in three buildings (and possibly a fourth) filled with dealer spaces as well as outdoor spaces surrounding the campus of buildings that will feature all types of antiques, collectables, vintage, antique furniture, clocks, glassware, jewelry, pottery, linens, advertising items, ephemera, primitives, artworks, farm related and countryside antiques, stoneware, old lighting, and just about anything old, collectable, vintage, and the like. Just about anything can turn up at this wonderful once a year event.
Dealers will arrive from several states and look forward to the large crowd that eagerly attend this show each year and eagerly buy from the many dealers.
Admission is just $5 per person with FREE parking adjacent to the show.
Jerry & Marge (Sweeting’s Catering) from Riverside, Iowa will be setting up in front of Building C with a delicious lunch stand that is just plain yummy and wonderful. Last year they sold out of food just before the end of the show. Looking forward to that myself!
Music will be provided by Lyle Beaver, who has had a band and has played in this area and all over entertaining hundreds of thousands since about 1952, or about 72 years. Some great accordion here and tentatively to be set up in the open side grain bin. Bring the dance shoes, enjoy the music, enjoy Sweeting’s Lunch Stand next to the grain bin, and enjoy the area’s largest July 4th Antique Show And Vintage Market.
