CEDAR FALLS — The Lady Spartans finished the 2024 Class 3A Girls State Golf Tournament in fifth place last Thursday and Friday at the Pheasant Ridge Golf Course in Cedar Falls. Gilbert took the 3A Championship with 608 followed by Wahlert Catholic (Dubuque) with 651. Xavier Catholic (Cedar Rapids) totaled 685 with 698 for West Delaware and 705 for Solon.
Gilbert’s Eden Lohrbach medaled with 139 and Clear Lake’s Meghan DeLong was runner-up with 147.
Solon was led by Sydney Dee with 169, good for 21st on the leaderboard. Rylee Greazel was 22nd with 169, Izzy Frees 37th with 182, Mya Miller 43rd with 185, and Bailey Woolley was 57th with 206.
The Lady Spartans bid farewell to seniors Brynn Deike, Greazel, Ashley Hummel, Peyton Pentico, Allison Quaintance, and Woolley.
