Be an informed citizen! The Solon Economist and Solon Public Library are hosting a Candidate Meet and Greet Tuesday, May 28 at 6:30 p.m. Come meet the candidates running for office ahead of the June 4 election. Candidates who plan to attend are Johnson County Sheriff Brad Kunkel, Johnson County Supervisor Candidates Bob Conrad, Lisa Green-Douglas, Mandi Remington, Royceann Porter, and Rod Sullivan, and Senate District 46 Candidate Ed Chabal. Each candidate will have five minutes to introduce themselves, then the time will be opened up for questions from the audience. Bring your questions and concerns and hear answers directly from candidates to help you make an informed decision when voting on June 4.

Kick Off Summer Reading with us Thursday, May 30 at 5:30 p.m. We’ll enjoy a foam party, water games, crafts, popcorn, popsicles, and more! Pick up your reading slips and a brochure to start planning your summer reading fun! The kickoff party will take place outdoors with the inside library closing at 5 p.m. to allow staff to prepare and host the fun outdoors.

You’ll find all the details starting with how it works, who can participate (everyone!), and all of the programs we have planned. This year some programs do require registration due to space and/or material limitations. If a program requires registration you’ll see that noted in the description, as well as a link to our calendar to complete registration. Registration for June programs opened on Monday, May 20 and registration for July programs will open Thursday, June 20. Please only register for programs you will be able to attend, if your plans change then we kindly ask you to cancel your registration to allow others the opportunity to enjoy. Get ready to plan your Solon Area Garage Sale shopping! The Friends of the Library will have maps and listings available at the Library and on our website beginning Thursday, May 30. The area sales will be held Friday, May 31 and Saturday, June 1 in Solon and the surrounding areas. Get ready to find some treasures!
The Friends of the Library will hold their garage sale in the Library meeting room from 8:00 a.m.-Noon on both Friday, May 31 and Saturday, June 1.

Regular Library hours are Monday-Thursday 9:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m. and Friday-Saturday 9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. Closed Sundays.
The Library will be closed Monday, May 27 in observance of Memorial Day.
The Library will be open 9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. Thursday, May 30 to prepare for our Summer Reading Kick Off party.
