Xavier’s Mehar Julka medaled with 72 while Meera Julka took runner up with 73.
Solon was led by Sydney Dee’s 82, Izzy Frees carded 83, Rylie Greazel shot 85, Peyton Pentico had 88, Mya Miller shot 90, and Bailey Woolley had 97 across the 18-hole day.
“We are super proud of the girls for their play today,” said Coach Curtis Hendrickson. “A couple of them didn’t have the ‘A’ game but they found a way to score, and that is what we’ve been preaching all year. Last year at the Regional, we panicked a bit when we ran into adversity. That experience helped our girls power through it today.”
The 3A State Golf Tournament runs Thursday, May 24 and Friday, May 25 at Pheasant Ridge Golf Course in Cedar Falls.
