SOLON — The Solon Economist and Solon Public Library will host a Candidate Meet and Greet Tuesday, May 28 at 6:30 p.m. at the Solon Public Library ahead of the Tuesday, June 4 primary election. Alexis Kurth, Adult Services Librarian, has invited all candidates, Republican and Democratic, to the event.
County Supervisors Royceann Porter, Rod Sullivan, and Lisa Green-Douglass are being challenged by newcomers Mandi Remington and Bob Conrad for three spots on the general election ballot. As of Tuesday, May 14 all five Democrats have confirmed their intention to appear.
Also appearing will be Sheriff Brad Kunkel (a Democrat, running unopposed) and Iowa Senate District 46 challenger Ed Chabal (a Democrat) who is running unopposed in his bid to challenge incumbent Republican Dawn Driscoll.
Each candidate will have five minutes to introduce themselves. Then, questions will be taken from the audience.
