SOLON — The Solon Economist and Solon Public Library will host a Candidate Meet and Greet Tuesday, May 28 at 6:30 p.m. at the Solon Public Library ahead of the Tuesday, June 4 primary election.
Alexis Kurth, Adult Services Librarian, invited all candidates, Republican and Democratic, to the event. As of Friday, May 10 Sheriff Brad Kunkel, County Supervisors Royceann Porter and Rod Sullivan, and Iowa Senate District 46 challenger Ed Chabal had committed to the event.
Porter and Sullivan, with fellow incumbent Lisa Green-Douglass are facing challengers Bob Conrad and Mandi Remington for three spots on the November ballot while Sheriff Kunkel is running unopposed and Chabel is running unopposed in his bid to challenge incumbent Republican Dawn Driscoll.
Each candidate will have five minutes to introduce themselves. Then, questions will be taken from the audience.
