SOLON — Solon High School students will work with Solon Intermediate School (SIS) students next week in a unique science experience at the Solon Recreation and Nature Area (SRNA).
The high school has implemented a class called Outdoor World, taught primarily outside and touching on a number of science standards according to Ken Beck, high school science teacher.
“On (Tuesday) the 14th , students in these classes will host an event with SIS 4th graders.” Beck explained high school students will be in charge of different stations that the 4th graders will rotate through. “These stations could range from activities to question and answer to creating something,” said Beck who noted the high school and 4th graders have been reading the same book. “The stations were developed based on the themes of the book and what fits in with the 4th grade science standards.
The event is scheduled between 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m.
