SOLON — WaMaC West foe Williamsburg took the team title in the Lady Spartans’ home golf invitational Tuesday, April 23 at the Saddleback Ridge Golf Course. The Raiders won the 18-hole day with 340 followed by Clear Creek Amana (341), West Delaware (344), and Solon (346). Benton Community (362), West Branch (403), Washington (409), and Regina Catholic (518) rounded out the eight-team field.
Sydney Dee, a junior, led Solon with 77 and took runner up to medalist Brooklyn Lee of CCA. Rylie Greazel (senior) shot 86, Izzy Frees (junior) had 89, Bailey Woolley (senior) carded 91, Mya Miller (junior) shot 94, Peyton Pentico (senior) had 97, and Jay Farlinger (sophomore) shot 98.
Solon leads at CPU/Benton Community triangular
Five of the top-ten spots on the leaderboard went to Lady Spartans last Thursday as Solon won a triangular with Center Point-Urbana and Benton Community at the Wildcat Golf Course in Shellsburg.
The Lady Spartans combined for 181 topping Benton’s 188 and CPU’s 216. Dee (43) was runner up to Benton’s Halle Sobaski who medaled with 40. Greazel took third with 44, Pentico was fifth with 46, Frees was sixth with 48, and Woolley placed tenth with 50 while Miller was 12th with 54.
