SOLON — The Spartan golfers hosted Vinton-Shellsburg last Monday (April 8) in a dual meet and won 154-165 with Isaiah Zoske winning with 35 for the nine-hole event. Zoske was ranked third in the state last week with a nine-hole average of 34.50.
Jack McCarty tied with the Vikings’ Carter Lamont for second with 36, Gehrig Turner carded 39, Nick Stahle shot 44, Nolan Seagren put up 46, and Brennan Heesch had 48.
Marion sat atop the WaMaC conference at 16-0 in the conference and 16-1 overall with the Spartans in the runner-up spot at 15-2 (WaMaC) and 15-2 overall.
