SOLON — The varsity Lady Spartans dropped to 2-2 overall (0-2 in the WaMaC East) after a pair of losses last week to Mount Vernon and Marion, both at home.
Mount Vernon visited Tuesday, April 2 with temperatures in the low 30s with rain and wind and held a 1-0 lead at halftime. The Mustangs scored again in the second half but the shutout was avoided as Sofia Ortega scored.
Rose McAtee made three shots on-goal with two by Tali Radcliffe and one apiece from Elena Swan and Ortega. Audrey Heineman allowed two goals and made three saves in 80 minutes in the goal.
Thursday (April 4), Marion visited with the Wolves scoring in the first half and hanging on for the 1-0 shutout. Radcliffe made three shots on-goal with two from McAtee and Grace Yetley, and one each from Swan and Sophia Link. Heineman allowed one goal and made four saves in 80 minutes.
