Leon “Skin” Kessler operated a garage on the corner of Main and Iowa 1917 – 1946. It was remodeled several times and became a drive through gas station. Harold Diehl took it over as a bar as Harold’s Place. Brian Jones ran it as Jonesy’s for several years until recently it became the home of Big Grove Brewery.

Gene & Effie Heinsuis also had groceries there the building later became a home of restaurants, Country Café, Reggie’s Wienies, & Salt Fork, to name a few and today it’s the Blue Bird Café.
