CEDAR RAPIDS — The Lady Spartans won Cedar Rapids Jefferson’s J-Hawk Relays Saturday at Kingston Stadium in Cedar Rapids, topping the 13-team field heavy with Mississippi Valley Conference schools with 126 points. Linn-Mar took the runner-up spot with 120 followed by Mount Vernon (86), Cedar Rapids Kennedy (82), Cedar Falls (78), Iowa City West (63), Decorah (61), Iowa City High (47), Waverly-Shell Rock (42), Cedar Rapids Washington (14), Benton Community (12), Waterloo East (8), and the J-Hawks (2).
Koby Lietz, Grace Hoeper, Anna Quillin, and Gracie Federspiel won the 4×400-meter relay in 4:06.65, Quillin, Sydney Dee, Hoeper, and Federspiel won the 4×800 in 9:50.15, and Avery Kellen, Hailey Miller, Jerzey Haluska, and Ava Rolwes won the distance medley in 4:34.18.
Mya Fordice was Solon’s only individual winner with a 1:08.09 first place finish in the JV 400-meter run.
Aly Stahle took a pair of second place finishes with a 12.67 showing in the 100-meter dash and a 26.44 showing in the 200 dash. Federspiel was second in the 400 dash (58.72), Jillian Elijah was 2nd in the JV 1500 (5:54.16), and Kate Shafer was second in discus (116-05. Mia Duckett, Piper Stahle, Marin Ashbacker, and Avery Kellen were second in the varsity 4×100 (51.99), Mia Stahle, Duckett, Aly Stahle, and Piper Stahle were second in the 4×200 (1:48.10), Bella Jedlicka, Britta Elijah, Laeni Hinkle, and Piper Barnhouse were second in the JV 4×200 (1:58.04), and Haluska, Olivia Bonnema, Rolwes, and Hailey Miller took second in the JV 4×400 (4:24.37).
Jillian Janssen took third in the JV 800 run (2:46.65), Kendal Werner, Lilly Towne, Cydney Jaster, and Mallory Pettit were third in the JV shuttle hurdle (1:15.03), and Aly Stahle, Trea Eidahl, Zoey Grimm, and Mia Stahle were third in the varsity shuttle hurdle (1:09.54).
Lucy Miller was fourth in the JV 100 dash (14.31), Hoeper was fourth in the varsity 400 dash (1:04.01), Reese Grimm was fourth in the JV discus (81-10), Towne was fourth in varsity high jump (4-10), Hailey Miller was fourth in varsity long jump (15-03), and Piper Stahle, Kellen, Ashbacker, and Lietz) took fourth in the 800 sprint medley (1:55.09).
Cydney Jaster was fifth in the JV 200 dash (29.37), Mia Stahle cleared the 400-meter hurdles in 1:13.22 for fifth, Falyn Svalstad was fifth in the varsity 800 run (2:32.10), and Dee was fifth in the varsity 1500 at 5:18.39.
