Solon alumnus Zeb Gnida concluded his senior season wrestling at the NCAA Division lll Championship March 15-16 in La Crosse, WI. Gnida led two other Loras teammates in gaining all-American status with a 3rd place finish at 174 lbs. The Duhawks placed ninth overall. Augsburg (MN) repeated as team champions.
Gnida, an academic all-American as well, went into the meet seeded sixth but won four matches losing only to Wartburg’s Zane Mulder, who finished runner-up. Gnida went 21-4 overall with three of the losses to Mulder, the 2022-23 D3 national champion at 174 lbs. He defeated Mulder at regionals to qualify for the national meet.
The biology/chemistry major plans to return again next year for his Covid season at Loras.
