JOHNSON COUNTY — The Johnson County Board of Supervisors will hold a public hearing on the Fiscal Year 2025 proposed property tax asking at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 27 in conference room 203 on the second floor of the Johnson County Health and Human Services Building at 855 S. Dubuque St., in Iowa City. All budget work sessions will be live streamed via the Johnson County website and Zoom.
During the public hearing, any resident or taxpayer may present objections to, or arguments in favor of the proposed tax asking. After the adoption of the proposed tax asking, the Board will set the time and date for a public hearing on the proposed FY2025 county budget and authorize the County Auditor to publish the notice for that public hearing.
Each year, the Johnson County Board of Supervisors, coordinating with other County elected officials and department heads, conducts a thorough budgeting process to create the County’s budget for the upcoming fiscal year. The public is invited to attend all meetings. More information about the FY2025 budget is available at www.johnsoncountyiowa.gov/finance/budget-documents.
