DES MOINES – Senator Dawn Driscoll, R-Williamsburg, has filed her nomination petitions with the Iowa Secretary of State to run for re-election in Senate District 46.
“I am pleased to file my paperwork today to run for re-election to represent the people of Senate District 46,” said Senator Driscoll. “We have a long list of accomplishments in Iowa. Since being elected in 2020, I have proudly supported historic income tax relief, historic property tax relief, responsible budgets, and protections for the agriculture industry in our state. I am looking forward to talking with my constituents about how we can keep moving Iowa in the right direction and continue providing conservative, common-sense solutions to the issues we are facing.”
Senator Driscoll is the chair of the Senate Agricultural Committee. She also serves on the Local Government, Natural Resources and Environment, State Government, Ways and Means, and Workforce committees. She is a sixth-generation farmer and a mother of three. She was the past president of the Iowa County Farm Bureau, and has been an active volunteer in her community, including chairman of the Ag in the Classroom program in schools and nursing homes, coaching volleyball and basketball, a religious education teacher, 4-H community leader, and a preschool board president.
Senator Driscoll has a bachelor’s degree in agriculture from Western Illinois University. She currently raises Angus cattle and farms with her family in rural Iowa County.
Senate District 46 includes all of Iowa and Washington counties. It also includes a portion of Johnson County. Senator Driscoll was first elected to the Iowa Senate in 2020. Due to redistricting she was reelected in 2022 and is running for a four-year term in 2024.
