IASP Testing Week
Principal’s Note
Wow! We’ve already flipped the calendar to February. The first part of January was filled with some challenges with the weather, but we’ve thankfully fallen back into a productive routine.
I had a student ask me if, because it was a leap year and we’d be in school on February 29, we’d get out of school one day earlier. Interesting logic, but not quite how the school calendar works.
Please look for separate communication at the end of the month regarding our IASP schedule. The testing window is from March 25-April 12. We will likely limit our testing to the mornings of the week of April 1.
Let’s make it an amazing February.
Mike Herdliska, Middle School Principal
Transitions – Freshman Orientation
8th grade families, please look for additional information from Mr. Wigle regarding the Freshman Orientation scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 27 at the Center for the Arts.
Student Recognition
Congratulations to the following students and staff who were recognized during our January assembly – Archer Frederick, Kenley Gates, Nolan Smith, Ashtyn Swancutt, Kole Clippert, Lincoln DeWild, Lexi Freese, Mara Stewart, Graydon Keller, Colton Sieverding, Scarlett Terzano-Borovic, Mrs. Breza, Mr. Hadenfeldt, Mrs. Noonan, Miss Rebecca, and Mrs. Reiter.
Recess
We do try to get outside for recess whenever possible, using 25 degrees as our signal to stay inside. Please remind your child to come prepared to spend 25 minutes outside, which may require more than shorts and a sweatshirt.
Yearbook photos
Parents, go to https://plicbooks.com/go/YR7RQ1 to upload pictures from any school event: sports, clubs, concerts, dress up days, etc. Group pictures are best so we can get as many students represented as possible! It is extra helpful if you can tag the picture with grade level and/or event. Thank you!
Update from the Nurse’s Office
Please remember to keep your child home for 24 hours after fever (without fever-reducing medication), diarrhea and/or vomiting. If they have symptoms that may impact their ability to remain in the classroom, those symptoms should be improving before they return to school.
Remember to please call the office if you are getting phone calls or texts from your child to come and get them because they are not feeling well.
Individual ISASP Results
See http://docs.google.com/document/ d/1B_MkCC37DLMhadpY9z2otB5st5ApcDpAFSZCThZpzQE/edit for information on how to access your child’s ISASP scores.
