IOWA CITY — The City High Little Hawks placed 12th out of 28 teams represented in the 2024 Iowa High School Athletic Association 2024 State Swimming Meet this past Friday and Saturday at the U of I’s recreation and wellness facility in Iowa City.
Solon senior Grant Bumsted, a team captain this season, competed in two relay events. Lars Hackathorn, Drew Brown, Bumsted, and Charlie Pfohl took 20th in the 200-yard medley in 1:42.12 improving slightly from their 1:42.97 district meet finish. Joe Polyak, Braydon Calonder, Bumsted, and Pfohl took 12th in the 200-yard freestyle in 1:27.31, improving upon their 1:28.81 time in the district meet.
