Finding ways to continue to grow – a word from the Principal
“We have a lot to celebrate as we enter the midway point of quarter 3. With all of the extracurricular activities we have in Solon, we can forget about the amazing things happening within the walls of our building on a daily basis connected to learning and growth. Our staff continues to find the best possible way to serve your child on a daily basis and we trust this allows growth in their learning journey as well.” – Zach Wigle

News from the High School Learning Center
Students from the High School Learning Center are grateful for the donations the community gave in efforts to contribute to the Holiday Service Project.
Collection bins were placed at all four schools within the SCSD. Together, 156 pounds of food was collected, and seven pounds of non-edible items were received (such as toothbrushes, hygiene items, and tissues). In addition, people gave monetary donations totaling $73.32!
Students were active in the action steps to make this Holiday Service Project a success. They created flyers, did announcements, collected bins, weighed the edible and non-edible items, counted money, and presented the collection to the food pantry in Solon. A big thanks goes out to this giving community. Students are looking forward to a Spring Service project (when the weather warms) where they will continue their learning on how to “give back” to our community!

Wellness – Winter Grind
We are about at the midpoint of our third quarter, grinding away toward March and spring break. A lot of extracurricular events will happen between now and the end of the quarter. Having to stay indoors due to the weather can negatively impact our daily routines. Parents, be mindful of your students as they navigate the busyness of their lives, making sure your students maintain a good diet and continue to get enough sleep and rest. If you have concerns about your student, please let me know if I can help in any way. – Mike Thompson
