Hagarty third in
WaMaC JV Tourney
Irelynd Hagarty placed third in JV-4 after a first round loss by decision to Williamsburg’s Hayden Wade, a second round 4-0 win over West Delaware’s Holly Gudenkauf, and a loss in sudden victory in the third round to Williamsburg’s Makenna Capper.
“We wrestled our strongest tournament of the season at the WaMaC Conference Meet,” said Coach Jake Munson. “We placed ten out of 12 wrestlers in the top five and crowned two conference champions with Kara VeDepo and McKenna Rogers. Kate Richards had a strong showing to finish 3rd in a difficult 115 lb. bracket and Alannah Mahoney has been wrestling really well of late and finished 3rd at 120 lbs. We had 11 wrestlers finish at their seed or higher in this tournament which speaks to the improvement the girls have made over the season and that we are wrestling our best heading into the state qualifier. We ended up finishing fourth which was great considering we were missing entrants in two of the fourteen weight classes.”
