Library Events
Cook up some tasty snacks and appetizers to share at Cookbook Club Saturday, January 20 at 11:00 a.m. Each month we select a theme or cookbook to try new recipes and bring some to share with the group. You get to try new foods, discover new favorites, and chat with other foodies. Join us!
What is radon? Who does radon affect? Learn all about this odorless, invisible, radioactive gas at our Radon Awareness program Tuesday, January 23 at 6:30 p.m. Local experts John Farlinger and Roy Weir will present information on radon, the effects on your health, how to test, and how to know when it’s time to call in the experts.
Join us at Game Night for some friendly competition! The last Thursday of the month at 6:30 p.m. we get out the Cribbage boards, Scrabble, and other fun games for adults and young adults to enjoy. Try a new game, join a raucous game of Cribbage, and enjoy a night out with new friends.
Our quarterly Trivia Night is coming up Friday, January 26. Register your team (max of six) for this night of brain teasers. Teams will compete in four rounds of trivia with the general theme of fandoms. Unlike any other trivia around — teams may visit the Library early to check out up to five books for reference during play. Play begins promptly at 6:30 p.m. so be sure to arrive a few minutes early to settle in with your team. Teams are welcome to bring snacks and make a night of it! Registration is required, please visit our website calendar event or call the Library to register.
Library Access
Regular Library hours are Monday-Thursday 9:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m. and Friday-Saturday 9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. Closed Sundays.
The Library is open 9:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. Friday, January 26 to allow time for our monthly staff in-service.

Staff Favorites of 2023
If there’s anything we love more than a good book, it’s being able to share recommendations with each other, patrons, and anyone who will listen! Here are a few more favorites from 2023.
Liz: The Day the World Came to Town: 9/11 in Gander, Newfoundland by Jim DeFede. The musical based on the book is coming to Hancher, in June. It was inspiring to read about the incredible generosity of the people of Gander, Newfoundland as they adopted over 5000 stranded travelers from all over the world after their planes were diverted to their small town after the 9/11 attacks. Next Year in Havana by Chanel Cleeton. A Historical Fiction novel about the wealthy Perez sisters whose lives are forever changed with the revolution in Cuba in 1958. The story alternates between 1958 Cuba and 2017 Florida. Available at the Library, and on the Libby App.
Daughter of the Moon Goddess by Sue Lynn Tan. While originally committing the faux pas of judging a book by a cover–Liz checked out this book due to the beautiful cover art and was immediately drawn into the world of Xingyin, inspired by the legend of Chang’e, the Chinese moon goddess. Madison: I Must Betray You by Ruta Sepetys. A gut-wrenching, startling historical thriller about communist Romania and the citizen spy network that devastated a nation. Available at the Library and on the Libby App.
If You Could See the Sun by Ann Lian. In this genre-bending, speculative YA debut, a Chinese American girl monetizes her strange new invisibility powers by discovering and selling her wealthy classmates’ most scandalous secrets. Find it in the Library.
All the Dangerous Things by Stacy Willingham. a totally gripping thriller about a desperate mother with a troubled past. Find it in the Library, and on the Libby App.
Megan: The Wind Knows My Name by Isabel Allende. This heartbreaking story gives just a peek into so many tragic events in history and current times, beautifully written with fact and fiction woven into this amazing work. Find it in the Library, and on the Libby App.
Firekeeper’s Daughter by Angeline Boulley. This young adult thriller is a fantastic audiobook, the narrator pulls you into the story and hearing Ojibwemowin spoken throughout just lends to the authenticity. Find it on the Libby app and at the Library.
Yours Truly by Abby Jimenez. The perfect rom com with laugh out loud moments, entertaining throughout, and the audiobook narrators are amazing. You can’t go wrong with anything by Abby Jimenez. Find it on the Libby App and at the Library.
Sherri: The Finlay Donovan series by Elle Cosimano. In the first book, Finlay Donovan Is Killing It, Finlay is overheard discussing the plot of her new suspense novel over lunch with her agent only to get mistaken for a contract killer. This witty, fast-paced adult mystery series is a mix of suspense and laughter that fans of Janet Evanovich are sure to enjoy. Book four is due to be released in March 2024.
