SOLON — As Christmas draws closer by the day, things are understandably hectic at the North Pole, home to Santa Claus. However, Mr. Claus makes time every year to come to Solon and visit with the children to hear their hopes and dreams for the big day.
As has been a tradition for many years, the Solon American Legion Stinocher Post 460 hosted The Jolly Old Elf Saturday, Dec. 9. Another tradition is that of having Santa delivered to the Legion by the Solon Fire Department.
As expected, Mr. Claus was kept busy with a line of children, however the Solon Economist was able to get a quick interview in. He said things are “rolling along pretty good” at the North Pole.
“Everybody’s been really good and we’re keeping busy to fill all the orders of all the children.” iPads and hover boards have been among the most frequently requested items this year, said Santa, “And even a couple for hula-hoops. It kind-of surprised us, but why not?”
