SOLON — The General Federation of Women’s Clubs (GFWC)/Iowa Solon Women’s Club in cooperation with the Solon Public Library are sponsoring their annual Holiday Decorating Contest at the library.
Participants should obtain a 5-1/2-foot artificial Christmas tree, a wreath, or garland to decorate in one of the following categories – Original, Seasonal/Holiday, Book/Movie/Game, Sports/Sports Team, Nature, or Animals. Once decorated, take it to the Solon Public Library between Saturday, Nov. 11 and Wednesday, Nov. 29, pay a $5 entry fee, and fill out an entry form (available at the library). The trees, wreaths, and garland will be judged, displayed, and put up for silent auction until noon Saturday, Dec. 9.
The event is a fundraiser with proceeds going toward the purchase of a computer for the library’s Early Childhood Learning Program (ages 2-8).
