SOLON — The 2023 city and school election is Tuesday, Nov. 7. Voters will elect a mayor, two city councilmembers, and two schoolboard members.
The mayoral election is the only contested race as incumbent Steve Stange faces a friendly challenge from councilman Dan O’Neil. Both men have had candidate profiles published in the Solon Economist with O’Neil in the October 12 edition and Stange in the October 19 edition.
Councilman John Farlinger is seeking reelection while Andrew Kramer is running to fill O’Neil’s seat on the Council while incumbents Adam Haluska and Jami Wolf are seeking reelection to the school board.

Monday, Nov. 6 is the last day for in-person early voting at the Johnson County Auditor’s office, 913 S. Dubuque St, Iowa City.
Tuesday, Nov. 7 is election day. Polls are open from 7:00 a.m.-8:00 p.m. Voters must vote at their assigned polling place, which can be found at https://gis.johnsoncountyiowa.gov/pollingplaces/, emailing [email protected], or calling 319-356-6004.
Mailed absentee ballots must be received at the Auditor’s office before the polls close at 8:00 p.m.
