IOWA CITY — The Mississippi Valley Conference (MVC) released the 2023 All-Conference Swimming and Diving lists last week with Solon’s Grace Hoeper and Avery Mann recognized.
Hoeper, a junior, earned Valley Division Swimmer of the Year and 1st Team honors in the 200-yard freestyle and 100-yard freestyle, and 2nd Team honors with City’s Margalit Frank, Elsa Farber, and Saoirse Miller for the 400-yard freestyle relay.
Mann, a senior, earned Honorable Mention in the 500-yard freestyle.
Ahead of the State Qualifying Meet this Saturday (Nov. 4 at Linn-Mar HS in Marion), Hoeper was ranked No. 1 in the state in the 50-yard freestyle (23.37) and 100-yard butterfly (56.82), No. 2 in the 100-yard freestyle (50.73), 200-yard freestyle (1:53.09), and 500-yard freestyle (5:06.33); and No. 4 in the 200-yard individual medley (2:09.21).

The 2023 State Swimming and Diving Meet will be Friday, Nov. 10 (diving and swimming preliminaries) and Saturday, Nov. 11 (swimming finals) at the YMCA/YWCA in Marshalltown.
