November is National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) and we’re joining the fun. Whether you’ve been an aspiring novelist for ages or just tempted to give it a shot, save the dates and join us for NaNoWriMo! Each Monday evening in November we’re hosting generative writing workshops with other writers. Robert Peck and Taney Kurth, rhetoric and English University professors and writing center instructors, will lead these workshops and provide support for anyone wanting to write this month! Our first session Monday, November 6 at 6:30 p.m. will be focused on Your Story Begins: Zeroing in Early Sets You Apart. If you can’t join us in person, visit our website calendar event for a Zoom link. We’d love to have you join the NaNoWriMo fun!
Aspiring knitters and fiber arts dabblers — join us for Knit-Lit! This group of fun and talented knitters is always open to new members. Come enjoy a great book and discussion, learn how to knit, and get helpful tips. On Wednesday, November 1 at 6:30 p.m. we’re getting together to discuss My Farming Life by Emma Gray. “In her heartwarming book, Emma tells the story of how she picked herself up and expanded her cattle herd, added more horses to her menagerie, and became one of the country’s most successful breeders and trainers of Border Collies — unexpectedly discovering true love and lasting happiness along the way.”
For crafters or curious friends, we’re excited to share a Cricut 101 class with you on Thursday, November 2 at 6:00 p.m. Adults and teens (grade 9 and up) are invited to come learn the basics of using a Cricut for your projects.
