SOLON — Join us Thursday, October 12 at 6:00 p.m. at the Solon Public Library meeting room for a soup supper and guest speaker, Karen Smith of Solon.
Karen is an advocate for mental health awareness. She has walked across the State of Iowa two years in a row to raise awareness, acceptance, and funding for those dealing with mental health challenges in our state. The program is open to the public.
This program is the result of a partnership between the GFWC/Iowa Solon Women’s Club, and the Solon Public Library staff. We’re presenting quarterly programs focusing on mental health to provide insight, resources, and coping skills for a variety of mental health conditions. The goal is to educate, destigmatize, and to provide information on mental health resources available to our community, through local and national organizations.
There is no cost for the soup supper. Donations would be accepted and will be given to a local mental health agency.
